Each summer the expresway on the right bank of the Seine is closed to traffic for about a month and two miles of pathways are transformed into a beach complete with white sand, palm trees, climbing walls and cafe's. The Paris Techno Parade is the only non-profit electro parade in Europe. 2004 was the 7th parade with up to 150 DJ's and 300,000 people winding their way through Paris from Montparnasse to Bastille.
